Nice Price Or Crack Pipe: The $45,000 Callaway Porsche 944?
Nice Price Or Crack Pipe: The $45,000 Callaway Porsche 944?-March 2024

Only 23% of you felt that was really worth $100,000 yesterday, and value calculation really is a tough call on a presidential car when the ex-owner isn't even president yet (and there are no photos of him actually driving the thing). Today we're going to explore the concept of rarity; here we've got a seriously rare high-performance car, modified by a highly respected company better known for its work with Chevrolets than with Porsches…

Yesterday's low-mile Mazda RX-4 got our highest Nice Price Or Crack Pipe approval rating yet, with…

According to the seller, the '83 Callaway Turbo 944 made 284 horsepower, nearly double the stock figure of 143, which gave it outrageous-for-its-time performance. In a car weighing 2,675 pounds (or about 200 pounds less than the current Boxster), that's going to be a lot of fun, and the seller points out that it ought to be legal for vintage racing. Only 20 of these little beasts were made, and the seller feels that makes it worth 45 American grand. Seriously cool car, heavy-duty price. What do you think?

For $12,800, Could This 1987 Toyota Supra Turbo Turn You Into A Supra-Hero?
Japan used to crank out six-cylinder sports coupes like they were going out of style. They eventually did seem to fall out of fashion, but today’s Supra seems a fine example of what once was. Let’s see if its price proves equally snazzy. Howard Hughes, the industrialist, was once one...

Take the religious following of air-cooled , then reduce that to the community of folks who are evangelists for the four-cylinder 912, and you’ve got a group of seriously passionate people. Like most passionate people that I’ve met, they want to bring you into the fold and show you why...

For $3,750, Could This 1996 BMW 318ti Hatch A Deal?
Long before BMW had the five-door Gran Coupe they sold another compact hatchback, the 318. Today’s edition is a gussied up M-sport. Let’s see if, for its price, you’d have its back. Toyota’s Supra originally grew out of the Celica pony car, in sort of evil twin fashion. However, while...

If you’re looking to have a bit of fun behind the wheel of a car all year long, the is a no-brainer purchase. A turbocharged, flat-four boxer engine sits under its hood and a full-time all-wheel-drive system puts the power to the ground, while a nimble package makes the entire...

The 2017 BMW M2 Is Exactly What You Want A Modern M Car To Be
I was appalled to learn that my colleagues, the Mikes Roselli and Ballaban, did not like the . Too hardcore, they said. Too harsh and crazy and ill-suited to daily driving! I called shenanigans on that, and I’m thrilled to say I’m right and they’re wrong. The new M2 is...

The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R Puts An Evil Voice In Your Head
On a twisty backroad in Connecticut, behind the wheel of the new 2018 , I followed a vehicle doing the posted speed limit of 55 miles per hour and thought to myself, “should I pass?” I had absolutely no reason to. Not one. But I did it anyway. Signal left,...
