Nice Price Or Crack Pipe: Wizard Of Oz Tin Man's '69 Cadillac For More Than $9600?
Nice Price Or Crack Pipe: Wizard Of Oz Tin Man's '69 Cadillac For More Than $9600?-August 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:10:20

There's no end to the choices here, even after 57% of voters went with "Nice Price" on the yesterday. Today we're going to explore the value of fame in a car, in this case a '69 Cadillac Fleetwood- a cool machine in its own right- that was once owned by , the man who played the Tin Man in The Wizard Of Oz. The last time it went up on eBay, the $9,600 top bid failed to meet the reserve, so it's apparent that the seller feels the Tin Man connection to be an extremely valuable one. That's apparent in his selection of photographs; when the car itself isn't as important as its intangibles, you shoot the photos with the sun behind the car and your family posed in front of it, throwing in a single shot of the hood emblem for good measure. Well, what do you think? Cool car, interesting past… but worth over $9,600?

Jalopnik Reviews: 2006 Audi RS4 - He Said Supercar, He Said 'Meh' Edition - Part 3
It comes with one of the world's all time great OEM engines. It goes way, way faster than however fast stink actually goes. The handling is ridiculously precise, the brakes are even better than the handling and to an untrained eye, the driver of said vehicle picks up dry-cleaning for...

Jalopnik Reviews: 2007 Ford Fusion SE, Part 2
I don't dig the five "razor blades" — three in the grill, two in the air dam — fitted to the Fusion's front. (Yeah, there's chrome all over the place in search of a tie-in, but so what?) Worse, while the grill, headlamps and taillights are properly fussy, at 20...

Back in , while we were attempting to see just how open an open bar can be, I was invited to sit next to the very calm and cool FoMoCoBro, Alan D. Hall. Poor Mr. Hall. While it's true I clean up reasonably well in a blazer for these types...

I really like the cut of the RS4's jib. The flared fenders are suitably butch and don't look tacky. Plus the fronts feature that cool disappearing-cut-line trick. The wheels are tasteful and display the Gallardo-type brakes with bravado, but withhold from Federline-emblazoned, yellow-painted ostentatiousness. And of course, it's got heaps...

After the enthusiastic embrace of the initial, "He Drove/He Drove" , Mr. Michael Spinelli did what any good editor would do — call the boys and yell, "Again! Again! Do it again!" Reality being what it is (poor, impoverished auto-journos living thousands of miles apart) Mike "Likes to Pray" Austin...
