CBS Dallas is following a stolen semi-truck that’s running across Texas with police in pursuit. Steam live from their helicopter’s view right here!
CBS reports that the chase began at around 11:00 a.m. local time. At least three tires are blown, including both left tires on the truck’s drive axle.
Police don’t know what the motivation for theft or escape is.
Police have blocked off most intersections ahead of the truck.
The truck has stopped after being routed to the end of a dead-end road outside Greenville, Texas.
Cops have surrounded the static semi-truck. The driver hasn’t made any movements inside the cab. Highway I-30 has been shut down on the eastbound side.
Snipers are in position, the semi-truck is completely surrounded by law enforcement.
Police have pulled an MRAP armored vehicle alongside the truck. Also, there’s a dog in the cab!
Police fired shots that appear to be less-lethal “knockout gas” and apprehended the suspect without killing him. The dog is safe.
