Racer And Jalopnik Contributor Robb Holland's BTCC Car Is In Forza 6!-May 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:40

If you’re a fan of British Touring Car Championship driver and Jalopnik contributor (I am too, it’s why I hired him!) then we have GREAT NEWS. Robb has reached a level of digital glory few humans ever experience: he’s going to be in a video game!

Well, his #67 Rotek Racing Audi S3 is, and it’s the one with his name on it. So when you fire up your copy of on Xbox One, you will get the chance to play as Robb, who’s both an incredible driver and an excellent human being.

“It’s pretty awesome,” Robb told me. “I spent my childhood pretending to be some other racecar driver now I can pretend to be me.”

Here’s what the Forza folks :

Notable racer and Jalopnik contributor Robb Holland was the first American driver to compete in a full season of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). With the help of Nürburgring-based Rotek Racing, Holland fielded the #67 Audi S3 Saloon in last year’s BTCC. Holland’s goals for the season were humble, given each race would be the first time he had seen many of the BTCC’s race tracks. Holland and Rotek placed in the top twenty more than once, fighting through unfortunate on-track incidents to earn some well-deserved points by the end of the season. For Forza fans, this BTCC racer is ready to relive its track time at Brand’s Hatch, charging forward from any spot on the grid.

Forza 6 goes on sale Sept. 15 and has a pretty impressive car list so far, which you can see in the link above. Huge congrats to Robb, we’ll have to have him pretend to be himself in the game and write about what that’s like.

No word yet on Jason Torchinsky’s Mahindra Mini-Truck Endurance Challenge for the Sega Master System, which is said to be stuck in development hell.

The American Divide That Created International Motorsport
The ubiquity of seeing German and Japanese vehicles alongside American cars on roads in the United States might make this apparent contrast feel like a recent phenomenon. The Last Stand For Rossi's Chainsaw-Wielding Fans
The Last Stand For Rossi's Chainsaw-Wielding Fans
One of the most vivid differences between MotoGP and Formula One is the legions of absurdly rowdy fans that line the track at each MotoGP event. The return of spectators at some events this season was certainly welcome after running the 2020 season with either severely limited attendance or...

Is the U.S. Ready For Three F1 Races Again?
In 1982, the United States became the first country to host three races in a single Formula One World Championship season. The trio of events featured races in Long Beach, downtown Detroit, and Las Vegas in the infamous parking lot at Caesars Palace. Another country wouldn’t hold three F1...

The 50th U.S. Grand Prix Is This Weekend, Depending How You Count
I have to admit that I’m horrible with anniversaries and birthdays. Remembering specific dates for important events have never been in my wheelhouse. Despite that, intuition struck that this year’s Formula One race in Austin is an important one. One might think it would be as easy to verify...
