Rally Sweden, Home Of Eating It In A Snowbank
Rally Sweden, Home Of Eating It In A Snowbank-October 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:45

Whatever you do, don't hit the piles of white fluffy stuff by the side of the road. Here are the highlights from this weekend's Rally Sweden, in all their snowbank-plowing glory.

Kris Meeke hit a snowbank. Jari-Matti Latvala and Elfyn Evans both got stuck in snowbanks. I'm tellin' you, man, snowbanks are evil.

Snowbanks affected everybody, including the poduim. Sebastien Ogier edged out Volkswagen teammate Andreas Mikkelsen on the last stage after Mikkelsen hit a snowbank. Ogier had been coming back from hitting a snowbank the previous day, but when Mikkelsen hit one on the last stage, it was game over. Mikkelsen lost his lead and the win.

Let's also not forget Thierry Neuville, who not only jumping Colin's Crest, but was in the lead after Saturday. Unfortunately, his Hyundai didn't have quite the pace of the Volkswagens, and he soon lost that lead to Mikkelsen, who was eventually passed by Ogier. He did come in second after Mikkelsen ate that snowbank at the end, though.

World Rally Championship driver Thierry Neuville just destroyed the jump record at Colin's Crest…

Snowbanks, man. Snowbanks.

Petit Le Mans Full Of Big Hits And Crashes, Yellow Flags Abound
Road Atlanta is one of the more high-speed, old-school venues on the Tudor United SportsCar calendar and as such, when the track bites you, it bites hard. That and folks just couldn't quite figure out how to make a safe exit from pit lane. Attrition was the name of the...

We want a better Formula 1. Cars at the cutting edge of technology and freakishly skilled drivers to manhandle them. We're not alone. Formula One At Suzuka Gets Red Flagged For Rain After 3 Laps
It's so wet, Ericsson spun on the safety car lap. There were only 3 laps under a safety car before the race was red flagged for standing water on track. The restart (which was still under yellow) was just as mad. So, uh, ? Suzuka was given not one, but...
