Recognize The F-150's Forefather
Recognize The F-150's Forefather-April 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:13:29

Time for your daily dose of derelict trucks rusting in their final resting place.

With the release of the 2015 Ford F-150 finally upon us, it felt appropriate to recognize its (great?) granddad on today's Rust In Peace.

This would have been one of the very first F-Series trucks, built sometime between 1948 and 1950. Back then you could have an F-1, F-2, or F-3. None of that "...'50" nonsense. Improvements over Ford's pickup before this one included a larger cab and one-piece windshield. There were two engine options: a 95 HP 226-cubic-inch inline six, and 239 V8 that made an additional 5 HP.

This one was photographed in 2013, and actually looks like it might be restorable if not highly harvestable.

is a daily feature on Truck Yeah! that takes a moment to respect retired trucks as they return to the Earth. If you've seen one you think we should share, drop a note to!

Ford Turned A 2015 F-150 Into A Jump/Drift Truck For SEMA
Ford got their Formula Drift dude Vaughn Gittin Jr. to step away from a Mustang for five minutes and help design a custom and not only is it not terrible, it actually looks kind of perfect. Here's how Jr describes the thing. I love trucks, ok, yes, I'm with you...

What Do You Want To Know About The Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro?
We've just wrapped up a weekend in Moab, Utah torturing the over slickrock, steep steps, rocks, and sand. Ask anything you want about it– I'll get you answers in the comments and full review! Despite being a bit anemic on the highway, I didn't find it wanting for power through...

Ford's already proven the lightweight aluminum is , but they're holding out on releasing a Raptor off-road variant. If you can't wait, Addictive Desert Designs has stepped up to fill the gap with two "Baja kits" that should unlock the new truck's rough-country potential. 's Matt Martelli caught a glimpse...

What Do You Want To Know About The Nissan Frontier PRO-4X?
I'm B-lining it to Moab in this 2014 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X and living in it all weekend, what do you want to know about one of the last true smallish, 4WD, manual pickups? If you're into the Frontier at all, you probably think you know everything about it already because...

Things Gets Hammered When You Offer Offroaders $10,000 To Climb A Hill
Things get more than a little hammered. This was Bounty Hill from Hell at Adventure OffRoad Park. Try and count all of the times a rock bouncer ends up in a tree. Or, heh, how many times one shoots towards a bunch of unprotected spectators. ...

Watch This Crazy Truck Driver Drive With His Feet
Truck drivers generally aren't so bad. In fact, they can even be pretty good. , even. So that's what makes this video so alarming. This isn't your average crappy Toyota Echo driver, with their feet out the window. This guy has his feet on the wheel, and it's at the...
