Following its release of the third generation Twingo TwinZ concept, Renault has released yet another concept vehicle to take the city car to the next level.
Like its twin, the new Renault TwinRun Concept cultivates the sporting spirit of the brand and pays homage to the legendary R5 Turbo and Clio V6.
Engine Capability
The two-seat Renault TwinRun concept is equipped with a 3.5 V6 engine delivering 238kW at 6800 rpm and maximum torque of 380Nm at 4850 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox. The TwinRun accelerates from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds reaching a top speed of 250km/h
Exterior and Interior Design Features
The Renault TwinRun features styling of Renaults future city car. The blue paint finish on the car is enhanced by graphic lines drawn with emphatic shoulders with touches of red on the strip, the roof, the ultra-slim door mirrors and parts of the rear airfoil.
The design of the headlights and the 5 on the doors pay homage to the emblematic R5 Turbo 1980s rally car, while the four additional, extra-flat headlights with LED technology enhance the concepts modern design.
The Renault TwinRun Concept also benefits from air intake vents positioned at the level of the rear wheel arches, and red surrounds on the circumference of the black and white wheel rims. Its fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels shod in Michelin 205/40 front and 245/35 rear tyres.
The motorsport theme is carried through to the interior with the tubular chassis and Sparco padded bucket seats, as well as the door panels and dashboard upholstered in black and red alcantara effect suede. Other features include sequential gear lever and handbrake levers installed close to the steering wheel, and a 5.5-inch LCD instrument cluster positioned in a white lacquer console.
