Six New Ford Models Due In 2015
Six New Ford Models Due In 2015-August 2024
2023-12-14 EST 02:30:48

Ford is said to launch at least six new models in 2015, entering what is rumoured to be its busiest year in the last two decades.

The cars in question will supposedly range from ordinary models to flagship vehicles that will push the brand to be more upmarket and appeal to new customers. The company will kick off its six model launch with the facelifted Focus and Focus ST, which are expected to arrive on our shores sometime later next year.

The recently revealed ST which made its debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, is distinguished by its sportier and more aggressive styling. It features a new bonnet, modified bumpers, and restyled fog lights as well as new 18-inch alloy wheels.

Also due for an early 2015 launch is the Mondeo, which is said to be available in a number of combinations including 1.0-litre petrol units to 4x4s and specific trim levels to a high end Vignale version. We miss the Mondeo in SA and hopefully with a more premium offer on the cards, Ford can see a place for it in our market.

The premium Vignale brand and the new Mustang are expected to a make an appearance mid-way through the year, with the launch of the S-MAX (MPV kind of like a Mazda 5 or Peugeot 3008) Vignale and the highly anticipated coupe and convertible versions of the Mustang, followed by the launch of the Transit which will celebrate 50 years next year.

Why Did Cars Have Suicide Doors and Do They Still Exist?
Most of us get in the car one way: We lift or squeeze the door handle, and the hinges near the front tire allow the door to open. Then we slide in behind the wheel, and we're on our way. But why open doors the boring way when you can put those hinges anywhere? Gullwing doors, like the iconic...

Kit Cars Put You in the Drivers Seat of the Hottest Cars in the World
Since the 1960s, kit cars have served as good ways to get drivers into building custom vehicles and creating more accessible replicas of rare sports cars. Kit cars initially got their name because manufacturers would sell the cars in pieces, like a full-size model kit. It was up to the purchasers to assemble them according to the provided instruction...

How Old Do You Need to Be to Rent a Car in the U.S.?
At 18, you can be called for jury duty, sign up for the military draft (if you're a guy) and get married without parental consent. But one thing you may not be able to do is rent a car. This is because many companies won't rent a car to anyone under the age of 21, and those that do...
