Somebody Bought This Totally Wrecked 1980 BMW M1, Maybe For $125,000
Somebody Bought This Totally Wrecked 1980 BMW M1, Maybe For $125,000-June 2024

BMW didn't make many M1s back in the day. Just 453 were produced, and 20 of those became race cars. That's why the survivors tend to command extremely high prices at private sales and auctions. But would you pay $125,000 for a completely wrecked one?

Someone just did. After being featured on on Sunday, this 35-year-old crashed 1980 BMW M1 went to a new home, possibly for as much as $125,000, which is what it was being listed for at .

The sellers said the M1 was wrecked more than 30 years ago and had been sitting in storage ever since. BaT pointed out that despite the extensive front end damage, the delightful 3.5-liter inline six engine appears to be intact. I would not kick that motor out of my garage for eating crackers, if you know what I mean.

Would you spend $125,000 for this M1? Whoever scooped it up has one hell of a restoration project on their hands.

Why The Hell Did I Just Buy A Broken Porsche 944 Turbo?
The main thing I advocate for people to do when purchasing, maintaining, and modifying a car is research until your eyes bleed. The more information you have about something, the more likely you’ll succeed in finishing said project. As it turns out, I am absolutely dogshit at following my own...

The Time I Thought I Could Do A Motor Swap In Mom's Garage
