Someone Understands the Importance of Using Just the Right Picture When Selling a Car
Someone Understands the Importance of Using Just the Right Picture When Selling a Car-July 2024

When you’re selling your car, there’s nothing wrong with picking—perhaps even curating—the pictures you use to best display the vehicle you’re selling. That’s what I like so much aboutfrom a guy selling his 1985 El Camino. Yes, the in main picture of the car it’s currently on fire, but he’s careful to also show himself right there, with a hose, attempting to put the fire out. What image could show that a car has been taken care of by a contentious owner than that owner attempting to not let it burn to the ground?

This picture says so much about the car, like hey people, it’s very likely that this El Camino will not be currently burning when you buy it! Because you can see the owner taking care of business, right there! With a hose!

As far as what happened, the ad gives us more information:

My baby had an electrical fire in the daah (sic). New rims, tires, rear shocks, starter, battery. Was using as a yard truck here at home on a regular basis. Motor and transmission good. Was warming up when the choke shorted out. I have the original hood as well. My loss can be your gain, can becrestored (sic) or used for parts. I have clear title. Serious offers considered. Decided to concentrate on other projects now.

At first I thought $2,000 for a partially-cooked El Camino was insane, but, in , it looks like that’s pretty in the ballpark for a running El Camino that needs interior work.

The lesson here? If you’re going to put an image of your car on fire in your ad to sell it, try and pick one where you’re at least trying to put it out.

It goes without saying, in light of the recent terrorist attacks there, that we stand with Great Britain. Similarly, today’s Jag XJS stands as one of that nation’s most laudable automotive achievements. But will its price stand up to scrutiny? Poor-shaw/Poorshh. You know, we’re so freaking lazy that we can’t...

I Can Confirm That The New Smart Car Is Good
I instantly despised the first when it debuted. Smart my ass. No car should try to convince you that buying one was a good decision. However! The car grew on me and I finally drove the new one. Much to my great pleasure, it was a genuinely wonderful vehicle, though...

The 2018 Audi R8 Spyder Is A $175,000 Absolution Of All Guilt You Could Possibly Ever Feel
The man who dropped off the keys to a loaner 2018 at my trendy eighth-floor walk-up on the Lower East Side shuffled away after the transaction was complete, looking over his shoulder longingly at the shining supercar like he was walking away forever from his firstborn son. In fact, he...

Today’s Subaru is just like Anne Boylen, an old girl who’s had her head chopped off. Lucky for us, this aftermarket beheading hasn’t meant the Subie’s demise. We’ll have to see if its price kills it for you, however. Overcoming fear of the unknown is a laudable achievement for the...

How My Arranged Marriage With Volvo Got Hot Again
How My Arranged Marriage With Volvo Got Hot Again
I met Volvo for the first time in the year 2000. My dad introduced us, both shy and unsure of our futures, on a balmy summer day not long after my 16th birthday. He’d already paid the $500 dowry, and I had little choice in the matter. That rusty 1985...

How The Acura Integra Type R Makes Modern Sport Compact Cars Look Weak
Every car has a purpose (besides the obvious one, which is to make money for car companies). Some are made for families with multiple children. Some are for convertible fun on a good back road. But the purpose of the Acura Integra Type R was incredibly singular: the business of...
