The all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC coupe has been spotted undergoing some final testing. After the recent reveal of the GLC SUV, it is expected that the coupe SUV model would be following closely behind. As a reminder and as proof that SUVs are extremely popular, the GLC has been the best-selling Mercedes-Benz model in the last two years, with over 2.6-million units finding homes around the world. The second-generation model is expected to carry on where its predecessor left off and boasts a cutting-edge cabin and state-of-the-art hybrid powertrains.
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe (internal codename C254) was recently spotted cruising around with just minimal camouflage, an indication that a global reveal is not too far away. If you’re confused by the coupe name, think of this then as Mercedes-Benz’s answer to the BMW X4 and Audi Q5 Sportback.
While these vehicles look interesting in comparison to the SUVs upon which they’re based, there are some minor compromises like the rear sloping roof tends to eat into rear passenger headroom and the fact they’re a bit more expensive than their conventional counterparts.
As far as powertrains go, you can expect the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe to follow a similar lineup to the conventional GLC, with the petrol-powered 200 4Matic, 300 4Matic and the diesel-powered 220d 4Matic forming the backbone. Naturally, AMG engines will feature, but based on current timings, we estimate we’ll see 43 and 63 derivatives being revealed in 2023.
