It’s clearly testing season in South Africa at the moment. On the back of spotting some of the latest Mini Cooper test mules running around Swellendam, we were sent more pictures of BMW products. This time a BMW i8 hybrid sportscar was spotted cruising down Somerset Road in Cape Town.

We can clearly see it’s a German-registered BMW i8 and this vehicle should be making its way to our shores before the end of the year.

Also spotted that day (by me) was a four-door BMW 3-Series with camouflage on the front bumper. Given the size of the wheels, the red brake calipers and the noise from the exhausts, I’m guessing this was the all-newBMW M3.
