The new cut in China, along with the original discounts put in place in October 2022 and some recent incentives for Chinese buyers have had the net effect of lowering prices between 13 and 24 percent from where they were in September, Reuters has calculated.

On their own, these new cuts slashed and Chinese pricing between six and 13.5 percent. According to the outlet, the starting price of the Model 3 in China was cut to 229,900 yuan ($33,427) from 265,900 yuan ($38,760). For reference, in the United States, the Model 3 starts at $46,990.
