The Tesla yoke “steering wheel” in itself is that we’ve explained, illustrated and pointed out many times . This yoke, in fact, is so bad that it even affected the brand’s , which haven’t seen a good day or rating in quite some time. It’s not just its overall design that’s bad, as some owners are now reporting quality issues, including peeling and coming apart, according to .

The quality issue shares began with a yoke first posted on Twitter. User tweeted that the yoke in his Model S had started peeling at just 20,000 miles.

Then another user, posted his yoke peeling in his Model S at around 12,000 miles. A follow-up tweet just a few minutes later showed the wheel had peeled even more just in the mile or so that he had driven since the first tweet.

Soon the started filling up with different owners talking about their yokes’ quality issues. Of course, there are some that stan with Elon Musk and had to place blame on something, saying it was on the owners, rather than Tesla’s shoddy quality. But for the most part, everyone agrees the yokes are made out of cheap material. However, some of the blame on owners themselves got out of hand as pointed out:

“@MeetKevin was facetiously accused of spilling beer in the interior, with a Twitter user hunting down a mugshot from an apparent DUI arrest. Posters scrutinized images and criticized @jf.okay in particular for on the yoke. Others spuriously asserted that excessive alcohol consumption could cause the problem via ethanol leaching out of the skin. Less cutting theories put the blame on hand sanitizers or lotions degrading the coating on the yoke.”

While steering wheel degradation over time isn’t anything new, it’s pretty disturbing on cars with less than 30,000 miles on them. Even more so on cars with less than 15,000 miles. My car has over 146,000 miles on it and the steering wheel just started peeling in certain places not too long ago. For this to be happening in cars with way less mileage that costs much more is pretty unacceptable whether some Tesla owners want to believe its a quality issue or not.

For $9,500, This 1985 Chrysler LeBaron Is Your Special K
LeBaron is a venerated coachbuilder name. Today’s LeBaron attempts to one-up the factory swag in bringing that name’s former grander to the K-car. The effort is applaudable, but is the price as well? Whether it’s the last slice of pie, the series finale of your favorite show, or praise from...

For $5,200, You Could Pickup This 1986 Subaru Brat
Heads up, today’s Brat is being sold by a fellow Jalop-in-Arms, so let’s be nice. Not too nice however, as we still need to know if his price is batty rather than Bratty. Hey guess what, yesterday’s didn’t generally float your boats. Its price also proved to be less than...

Should I Trade In My Car Or Sell It Privately?
When it’s time to upgrade your current ride, you’re faced with the choice of trading it in to the dealership or selling it elsewhere. While a private sale can be a hassle, it often means getting more money for your car. However, it really depends on what you have...

For $15,995, This 1969 Olds Cutlass Has a 455 And A Column Shift
Three on the tree used to be standard fare, but is now unique and idiosyncratic. Today’s Cutlass has that and much, much more, but will its price make it a low-hanging fruit? Yesterday may have been April 1st, but there was no foolin’ you with that ‘. Like every baby...

For $8,500, This 1971 BMW 2002 Brings Some Neue Klasse
Today’s BMW is an old-school Neue Klasse. It’s also apparently very low mileage, but will its price ultimately match its miles? Buttery soft leather, designer clothes, a rip-snorting DOHC V8 engine, yesterday’s seemingly had it all. Sometimes however, too much is never enough, and at almost eleven grand, that Italian...

For $8,000, This Custom Jeepski Will Let You Make Waves
One if by land, two if by sea, and eight-grand if by today’s Jeep-bodied jet ski. Could that be a number that would have you getting onboard with this crazy water-going American icon? Is there any greater single symbol of America's involvement in WWII than the Jeep? That do-all transport...
