There are different yardsticks in the truck world. Instead of top speed, or acceleration, or just the right steering wheel thickness, you have payload capacity, durability, and, of course, towing capacity. And the should be right up there, with a claimed towing capacity of 12,314 pounds.

Nissan, in all of its wisdom, decided to publish its a bit earlier than we think they planned. But that’s okay, as it means we get a sneak peek. Of course, you need to check off the boxes just right for that maximum towing capacity, as getting it wrong will leave you with a towing capacity of just 10,608 pounds.

For comparison, the has a maximum towing capacity of from 7,600 to 12,200 pounds, the will tow 12,000 pounds, and the has a capacity of 10,650 pounds.

Basically, what that means is, you’re going to need a bigger boat. Unless you have a Ram, in which case, you’re going to have to need a slightly smaller boat.

And if you’ve got the Nissan, you can tow your large children as well, though how large can they be???? I’m sure you can put them inside the truck with all your other things.

Mike Levine, a Ford Trucks spokesman, notes that the weight of the Titan actually makes it comparable to a Ford F-250, not an F-150, and that changes things a bit:

But if we’re comparing the bigger trucks, we might as well compare a bunch of them. The has a towing capacity of 17,900 pounds, and the has a towing capacity of 17,980 pounds.
