GMC just debuted a new version of the 2019 called the “Elevation,” and not only is it damn good looking, but it also comes stock with an all-new 2.7-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, and can be optioned with an “X31" off-road package.

GMC already showed off of its 2019 Sierra since the model debuted as a Denali and SLT. And now there’s another: the 2019 GMC Sierra Elevation.

The big news, here, is that this double cab, two-wheel or four-wheel drive Sierra gets a standard 2.7-liter turbocharged engine (GMC doesn’t specify the cylinder count in its press release, but at 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft, it’s surely the same 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine going into the ) mated to an eight-speed automatic. Other available engine options include a 5.3-liter V8 bolted to an eight-speed and later, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel hooked to a 10-speed auto.

The more obvious ways that the Sierra Elevation is different than other Sierra trims are in the truck’s aesthetic elements. The Elevation has a unique grille surround, unique door handles, fancy bumpers, a black grille insert, black tow hooks, black side window trim and black 20-inch wheels.

The truck looks great in this single photo, and if optioned with an “X31 Off Road package,” it might actually be as tough as it looks, with the package including Rancho shocks, a locking rear differential, Hill Descent Control, skidplates, a two-speed transfer case, all-terrain tires, a “heavy-duty air filter,” and dual exhaust.

This new Elevation edition is similar to the outgoing Sierra Elevation, which GMC called a “,” and which also offers a monochromatic exterior package with body-color bumpers front and rear, body color grille surrounds, body colored door handles and black recovery hooks.

So this new 2019 version isn’t a huge departure from the old Sierra Elevation trim, except now theres a 2.7-liter turbo four under the hood instead of a weak-sauce 4.3-liter V6. GMC says the Sierra Elevation will hit the market this fall.
