The Diesel Colorado And Canyon Are Finally On Their Way To Customers
The Diesel Colorado And Canyon Are Finally On Their Way To Customers-April 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:13:17

After inexplicably , it sounds like GM has finally started sending preordered Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks with the 2.8 Duramax diesel engine to dealerships and customers.

“The highly anticipated 2016 GMC Canyon diesel has begun shipping to dealers. We look forward to getting these trucks in the hands of our customers and appreciate their patience,” a GMC spokesperson told in an email this week.

No further explanation was provided.

Earlier in December, the forum started getting antsy with a long list of members who had paid for but not received vehicles. We poked around and found or lack of communication that was claimed by some forum users. The only comment GM made clear was that delays were not linked to EPA testing, and that the vehicles stood up to scrutiny regarding the legality of their emissions.

I’m not sure if we’ll ever really know why GM had so much trouble getting their mid-sized diesels to dealerships. GM officials never responded to our calls or emails about the initial delay. I’ll try them again after the holiday and let you know if we hear anything back.

In the meantime, I hope the Colorado and Canyon diesels people are finally receiving were worth the wait. I know I enjoyed driving both trucks tremendously.

The 2WD version is supposed to max out at 31 MPG. If you’re one of the lucky customers getting their diesel-powered mid-sized GM this long weekend, I want to hear how close you come to that figure!

This Extreme Off-Road Volkswagen Bus Is Barely A VW At All
This Extreme Off-Road Volkswagen Bus Is Barely A VW At All
Ever since we saw I’ve been obsessed with this idea of an extreme off-road hippie van. So far, this is as close as I’ve been able to find. What you’re looking at is of course not a VW at all; rather it’s a 1979 Mercedes-Benz Unimog with the body of...

In another episode of truck versus train: not only does the train win again, it accidentally hauls the big rig a quarter mile down the tracks before grinding to a stop. Fortunately nobody appears to have been seriously hurt in this wreck captured in Mountain Iron, Minnesota by a State...

Watch A Wild Rhino Go Rampage On This Safari Truck
A rhinoceros really wailed on these tourists’ Toyota hard with its horn the other day. Guess it figured legs get right-of-way over wheels in Namibia’s Etosha National Park? 48-year-old Alexandra Poier, filming from another vehicle, told that both vehicles and their occupants got the heck out of there (safely) pretty...

This FedEx Truck's Perfect Parking Job Is Deeply Satisfying
This is what “nailed it” looks like. This older video of a FedEx big rig expertly reversing into a tight garage on Washington Street in Manhattan has resurfaced, giving us all another opportunity to appreciate this driver’s parking skills. What’s almost more impressive is that third-generation Ford Econoline van still...

Watch This Ratty Off-Road Sports Car Climb Stairs And Kick Ass
Don’t write this car off because it looks like the homebuilt bastard of a hot wheels car and somebody’s discount Fiero body kit. It’s pulling off some pretty impressive moves here, and hey are those road tires? Causal attempts to track down the origin of this thing have so far...
