The Flat Out Autos KR2 Is The New K5 Blazer Chevrolet Refuses To Sell-April 2024

Flat Out Autos Chevrolet KR2

Allegedly, Chevrolet still makes a Blazer that it would be happy to sell you. Unfortunately for fans of the old , the current one just isn’t it. Sure, it says Blazer on the back, but , and you can’t even get it with the V8. You , but if you still want that old-school K5 Blazer feel in a new vehicle, brought something to this year that might just scratch that itch for you.

Called the KR2, it’s essentially the new K5 Blazer that Chevrolet refuses to build. that it’s based on a Chevrolet Silverado 1500. It reportedly now has 37-inch Nitto Trail Grappler Tires, a long-travel suspension, custom coilovers and a supercharged 5.3-liter V8. So it’s not quite a Silverado ZR2, but it’s close enough.

True to Blazer tradition, there’s also a carbon-fiber roof cap that can be removed if you prefer an open bed. And even though it only has two doors, the KR2 still has seating for five, with the back seats now located in the bed. To keep those rear passengers safe in the event of a rollover, there’s a black roll bar in place.

Since the KR2 was built for SEMA, there’s no telling how much it would cost to convince Flat Out Autos to build one for you. Still, something tells us that if you’re willing to hand over a big enough pile of money, the folks there would be more than happy to put a KR2 in your driveway for you. It certainly won’t be cheap, but hey, it still looks like more of a Blazer than the one Chevrolet wants to sell you.

If you want to know more about the KR2 or see more photos, to learn more.
