The Jeep Jeepster Concept Puts Modern Off-Road Tech Under 1960s Style
The Jeep Jeepster Concept Puts Modern Off-Road Tech Under 1960s Style-May 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:13:11

The Jeepster concept we’ll meet at the 2018 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah next week takes a new and loads it up with OEM off-road upgrade parts. But the coolest part is the raked windshield and roof, which look straight off the ’66 Jeepster.

Easter Jeep Safari is the annual off-road social hour (week) in which thousands of Jeep fans descend upon Moab, Utah to check out each other’s rigs and drive the region’s breathtaking trails.

Jeep itself is a big part of the event, and always brings a batch of one-off customized old and new Jeeps to entertain us with. Sometimes, just sometimes, parts and design cues we see here trickle down to production.

As for this Jeepster specifically, that hardtop is chopped by two inches over a standard Wrangler roof and the fold-down windshield is raked 2.5 degrees to make it look sleeker.

The hood, 2-inch lift, beadlock-capable wheels, black fuel door, grab handles and floor mats (woo!) are actual Jeep products you can order at the dealer. That means you could fit 37-inch BF Goodrich KO2 tires to your Wrangler pretty easily with that suspension kit.

The spare tire has been re-arranged to be mounted in the cabin to make room for some “concept storage packs” which I think we might see for sale at Jeep stores sometime too.

We’ll get to see this vehicle in action in Moab in a few days.

Here's Why Drivers Love And Hate Racing The King Of The Hammers
The 2018 went down in February, on the rocks and open lake beds of Johnson Valley. It could just as easily be Mars, though. And you get a great perspective of what a rock-crawling desert race is like from these drone shots. The King Of The Hammers, sorry, I mean...
