It looks like has finally figured out how to be an uber-exclusive brand. The British off-road brand used Monterey Car Week to drop its most exclusive and expensive model ever: the 2022 Range Rover SV Carmel Edition.

If you have to ask you, can’t afford it. Range Rover is making just 17 of this bespoke special edition cars, and they’re exclusively for the U.S. Each one will cost $345,000. So what makes it so special?

The whole package is inspired by the beautiful nature and scenery of the California coastline in Carmel. I honestly get it. If you’ve never been to Carmel, it’s gorgeous. The exterior of the Range Rover is painted in special bronze paint called Satin Bronze. Huge 23-inch dark gray wheels with matching Satin Bronze inserts round out the exterior. Power comes from a twin-turbo 523 horsepower V8.

Inside, there’s room to stretch out. The Range Rover SV Carmel is only available in a long wheelbase, four-seat configuration. I’m glad more automakers are seeing my various shouts of needing more blue interiors. Range Rover got the memo as the seats in this thing are covered in Liberty Blue leather with contrasting Caraway brown rear leather seats. The four-seat configuration allows for a full-length center console. It houses electronically deployable club tables and cup holders, and it a fridge that boasts Dartington Crystal glassware ( is a fancy British glassware maker. Two wine glasses from them can cost as much as $73.) There are also various controls and surfaces finished in ceramic white.

As if all this wasn’t fancy enough, Range Rover is also throwing in two full sets of golf clubs from the Titleist’s Performance Institute. It’s not all about taking money, though. Range Rover says a portion of the proceeds the company receives from the sale of the Carmel edition will go to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.

In the Simpsons episode Hank Scorpio is an evil genius who is hell bent on world domination, and equally obsessed with his employee's work-life balance. Today's Merkur Scorpio may never dominate anything, but will its price at least prove worth plotting its take over? Patrons of the arts you proved...

If the VW Vortex was a high school, and they had a prom, what would be the coolest way to get there? The answer may be today's Squareback limo, that is of course unless its price imeans the party's over. While it's a common admonition that you don't mess with...

For $135,000, That’ll Leave A Mark III
When you think of James bond and Aston Martins, no doubt the iconic and gadget-laden DB5 comes to mind. Truth be told, when Ian Fleming wrote the novel Goldfinger, he drove a DB Mark III, just like today's contender. But the question is, will this one's price make it easy...

As gas prices continue to climb, one might be compelled to switch to a mode of transportation that's both more basic and more frugal. You can't get much more basic and frugal than today's GoPed Scooter. But will its price make this a No-ped? Okay, so the audience for a...

For $5,000, Get My Drift?
With all due respect to Alanis Morissette, being ironic does not include a traffic jam when you're already late, nor a no-smoking sign on your cigarette break. No, ironic - by definition - is today's W123 Diesel Drifter Wagon. The only question is — whether in a theater or not...

For $5,900, Get Your Stari-On!
When it comes to small sport coupes today's Mitsubishi Starion is a whole lot closer to Porsche's 944 Turbo in form than it is to its country-mates the Nissan 280ZX and Toyota Supra. That being said, is this one's price also in Porsche's league? You know what's the best thing...
