The Porsche GT4 Clubsport Is Your New Cayman GT4 Race Car
The Porsche GT4 Clubsport Is Your New Cayman GT4 Race Car-May 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:38

Porsche took the already awesome one step further by developing a full on racer Clubsport version. Gone is the manual gearbox, but those paddle shifters will only make it faster around the track.

The new car will debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show on 18 November, with sales starting immediately. As for the 2016 season, Porsche is planning to homologate its smallest race car for the Pirelli World Challenge, the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, the Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA, the Ultra 94 GT3 Cup Challenge Canada and for various club races run by the Porsche Club of America and others around the world.

The Clubsport weighs 2,866 pounds and is powered by the same 3.8-litre flat-six engine as you find in the road car, still tuned to produce 385 horsepower. Instead of the manual, it comes with a double clutch transmission and a mechanical rear differential while its front axle was sourced from the 911 GT3 Cup car. Stopping power is provided by 380mm steel discs all around.

A welded-in roll cage and racing buckets with six-point harnesses are also part of the standard equipment.
