The Toyota Supra Has Gone Too Far
The Toyota Supra Has Gone Too Far-February 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:09:45

Yesterday, my esteemed colleague Erik Shilling a very, very clean 1994 for sale . At the time of his writing, it was holding at $90,000. The auction just ended a few minutes ago with the final selling bid of $121,000. Christ.

Look, I understand the draw of a clean, used car as much as anybody else. I even get the appeal of a Supra. It’s an awesome, superhero tuner car from the ‘90s. But over 100 grand for one? Even one with just 7,111 miles on the clock? Get out.

That would probably make this Supra this most expensive Supra ever sold in the used market, if you don’t consider from The Fast and the Furious. Apparently, fanaticism for the Supra has reached this fever point. Will the bubble burst? Do any of the car bubbles burst? I don’t know, but I do know that this is far too much for a Supra.

I am tired now.

The Saab 900 Turbo SPG Was A Hot Hatch Way Before Hot Hatchbacks Were Cool
The may in fact be the most underrated performance hatchback in history. While most believe the Volkswagen GTI to be the grandfather of the hot hatch, truth is, while VW was still relying on a measly 1.8-liter four to generate power, Saab was dishing out fire-breathing, front-wheel-drive turbo compacts ravenous...

For $3,500, Could This '1986' Porsche 944 Be The Answer?
The typical answer for all questions automotive is Miata, but what if you seek something with a little more provenance in the response? In that case, today’s 944 might just do, that is, if its price proves above question. Alfa Romeo’s been having a bit of a hard go of...
