These Photoshopped Two-Door Jeep Gladiators Have My Heart
These Photoshopped Two-Door Jeep Gladiators Have My Heart-September 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:13:09

The only came as a two-door regular cab truck, and a number of folks think the should follow suit. Check out these Photoshopped images of the first Jeep pickup in 26 years, and you may agree.

The new Gladiator may be categorized as a mid-size truck, but look at its dimensions and it’s clear that this thing is a beast. Overall length is 218 inches, with a wheelbase of 137. That’s about a foot longer overall and half a foot wheelbase-y-er than my full-size J10, which has a giant eight-foot bed instead of a five-footer like the new truck.

Clearly, the new Gladiator is a lot of truck, and its wheelbase will no doubt hinder it off-road, which is why it’s fun to dream about a two-door model, even though crew cab trucks are what’s selling these days:

In an ideal world, I’d probably want to add a foot of length to the bed, and then shift the axle rearward for a better departure angle. But still, the fake truck in these images looks cool. Slap a bench seat up front, and replace that cheap Jeep badge on the tailgate with a stamping, and the world would be a better place.

The short, Photoshopped pickup does look a bit odd towing a Grand Wagoneer, and frankly, I’m not sure I’d want to even try it, as it could be a bit dicey dynamically.

Another reader even Photoshopped an extended cab, which looks pretty decent, too:

I asked Jeep if they had any plans to make a two-door Gladiator, even though I’m 99 percent sure the answer is “no.” But gosh would it be cool if they did.
