Thierry Neuville's Rally Car Flies Better Than Most Planes
Thierry Neuville's Rally Car Flies Better Than Most Planes-March 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:45

World Rally Championship driver Thierry Neuville just destroyed the jump record at Colin's Crest during Rally Sweden with a 44-meter tribute to the art of flight. It's so direct. Smooth. Fast. Why go down the hill when you can simply fly over it?

That's about 144 feet of glorious, glorious air time. That's a little over twenty-seven mes. The slow-mo is even better. Jumping a car makes you feel like everything's a little weightless until you touch down on the ground. Marvel in awe at the vaguely Hyundai-shaped peanut flying effortlessly through the air.

This car proves that you don't really need a plane to fly. Most plane rides I've been on are nowhere near this smooth. Clearly, I need to travel via rally car instead.

Rally Sweden continues throughout this weekend.

Watch An Audi Le Mans Racer Fall Over With The Utmost Grace And Precision
Why is there so much time spent at Circuit de la Sarthe ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans? To avoid messy driver changes, for one. Getting in and out of the little trapdoors that go inside a top-level LMP1-class Le Mans prototype is harder than it looks. At...

The Amount Of Work That Goes Into Making Ken Block's 600 HP Ford Focus RS RX Is Insane
I don’t think I had an appreciation for how much work goes into building a rallycross car from the ground-up until I saw this clip on Ken Block’s new . Every little individual component has to be assembled, and it’s fascinating to watch it all come together. Sure, I knew...
