There are lots of reasons to love the , not the least of which are its inline-six and V8 power, rear-wheel drive layout, and delightfully 1990s looks. But if those aren’t enough, this 1,180-mile 1992 Mercedes 500 SL “barn find” for sale on insurance auction site Copart may just win you over with its sheer perfection.

There’s a mysterious story behind this running, driving, clean title-having “barn find” Mercedes currently bidding at $14,400. According to the Copart description, it was stolen way back in 1991:

This is an insurance company supplied vehicle that is a recovered theft. According to the insurance company claim, the vehicle was stolen from the dealership in November 1991. The vehicle was recovered in late 2018 and was found that the vehicle had been stored indoors the entire time and only was driven 1,186 miles.

Currently located in Pittsburgh, the SL apparently picked up a few minor dents and scratches over the years, but boy does it look splendid in these photos:

Even the interior looks fresh:

As does the engine bay:

Today's Explorer is movie themed and even has its own so that others can share in the cinematic dream. It's a pretty faithful homage to the Jurassic Park trucks, but you'll need to decide if its price simply T-wrecks it. Panamax is the term given to the largest dimensions of...

Why The Porsche 911 GTS Is More Than The Sum Of Its Parts
Some say the is just an options package with too little to distinguish it from a Carrera S. Others say the GTS is the drivers' 911 to buy if a GT3 is too much car. So which is it? We found out. ( Porsche wanted us to drive the 911...
