This Could Be Your Early 'Aughts Morgan Aero 8 But You Playing
This Could Be Your Early 'Aughts Morgan Aero 8 But You Playing-July 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:09:46

There are only a few hours left to place your bid for one of the weirdest designs every to come out of the faux-classics car builder Morgan. We’re talking about a 2005 Morgan Aero 8 for sale on .

Remember eBay? It was the place to shop back when this Morgan was brand new. It was a time for trying things differently, and the 8 was Morgan’s attempt at something new. It was the first new design from Morgan since the +4+ in 1964. The Aero 8 was different from anything they had ever done. Instead of a aluminum skinned wooden body tub on a steel chassis the 8 has both an aluminum chassis and frame. Under the hood the Aero 8 was sold with a BMW-supplied 4.4L V8 pumping out a stout 325 HP, especially considering the car weighs in at only 2,500 lbs. Somehow its previous owner kept that beast locked away. This 8 only has 8,800 miles on it.

Morgan isn’t the old stodgy brand it once was. Now it’s known as the quirky and quick automaker that still values the old ways of bolting and soldering everything by hand. And while the crosseyed look certainly isn’t for everyone (in fact, Morgan redesigned the fascia in 2008) we can all admit that it exerts a certain gravitas. At least from the back. As of this writing the auction currently sits at $65,100 with the reserve still not being met and only 17 hours to go.
