Syria continues to smolder and the fighting has become so indiscriminate that it is hard to imagine what will be left of the country once this conflict comes to an end. Barrel bombs are pretty horrible, literally rolled out the back of helicopters, but a salvo of "Grad" 122mm rockets shot into an urban environment is downright lunacy.

Syria has truly entered a state of total war, one where any amount of violence, no matter how indiscriminate, is now totally acceptable.
