A prototype passed through the city of Morgantown, West Virginia today. Why do I know this? Because the people of Morgantown, West Virginia emailed over the thrilling news.

Let me not delay in saying that seeing a Jeep pickup prototype anywhere is cool as hell. Morgantown, West Virginia. Willits, California. Draper, South Dakota. I don’t care. All good.

We as a society have been waiting on a factory Jeep pickup for ages now, intensified particularly after the came out in 2007 for the military only.

With that out of the way, I will share the second email first, because it is great. The subject line is, if you’re curious, “JEEP TRRRUUUUCCKKKKK!”

Spotted in Morgantown WV today. My son Jack, avid car hunter called this one.

This is the true and unbridled joy of not only spotting a prototype car on the road but really of seeing any cool car at all. This is the good stuff.

Not long before then, we got “I SAW A JEEP PICKUP!”

On my way into work this morning I saw an undercover Jeep pickup! I got some pictures, nothing special. It was just pulled over on the side of the road in Morgantown, WV. I wish I could have followed it all day but my Prius driving boss would probably not have approved.

I quickly double-checked if anything else had popped up on Instagram in the area, but found nothing. (I assume people want to keep this secret Jeep to their private channels.) I also searched Twitter, but didn’t exactly come up with anything particularly related. This is the best I got:

Still, these pictures our two tipsters sent us are fantastic views of the Jeep pickup. More importantly, however, they are beautiful glimpses into pure automotive joy. Thanks, Morgantown.
