This T-33 Named "Ace Maker" Almost Gave Me A Buzz Cut-November 2024

One of the hottest air show acts in the country is Greg "Wired" Colyer's nicknamed "Ace Maker." Throughout the show season, I do some photo work with Greg and the resulting shots never seems to disappoint. Credit to my friend Julie for the video below of Greg giving us a very close look at Ace Maker in action:

The T-33 was one of the most successful designs of the "golden jet age," with over 6500 built. It was yet of legendary Lockheed Skunk Works designer Kelly Johnson. The Shooting Star served for close to 50 years in US service and flew with dozens of countries around the globe. T-33s continue to fly in private hands to today. These jets include a pair of T-33s that serve as Boeing's go-to chase planes, as well as Greg's two T-33s, Ace Maker I and II.
