Tony Stewart’s Last Weekend As A Sprint Cup Driver Started With Having His Phone Stolen
Tony Stewart’s Last Weekend As A Sprint Cup Driver Started With Having His Phone Stolen-November 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:27

Tony Stewart will after Sunday’s race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and he’s apparently getting a lot of texts about it all. But he can’t exactly answer them, because reports that someone stole Stewart’s phone on Thursday.

What a bad way to kick off the retirement years, huh?

According to NBC Sports, Stewart was at a carnival with his girlfriend in Miami when the phone went missing. Stewart said he realized he didn’t have his phone while on the way out, and that the two bumped into a few people right before that happened. He thinks that’s when someone managed to grab it off of him.

Stewart and his girlfriend went on a goose chase with the Find My iPhone app until they realized the phone made it out of the parking lot, so he blocked the number and made plans to get a new one. From :

“It’s been a hell of a start to the weekend to get your phone stolen,” said Stewart, who will make his final NASCAR Sprint Cup start Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. “Probably the biggest thing that was disappointing when I realized my phone was stolen was the fact that I was in the process of answering text messages from people. I got a flood of text messages.

“I think I’m going to have a phone by (Saturday) and I’m sure it’s going to be absolutely crazy when I turn it back on.”

Sure, retirement warrants lots of text messages, but the self-absorbed blogger in me wants to know if any of those texts had to do with Stewart’s . (No, really, the head on a stick was bigger than it should have been.)
