Tuk Tuk Driver Sets Awesome 1.37-Mile Record For Driving On Two Wheels
Tuk Tuk Driver Sets Awesome 1.37-Mile Record For Driving On Two Wheels-July 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:14:17

Jagathish M is a tuk tuk driver from Chennai, India, who has an interesting hobby: pulling off sweet stunts with his work vehicle. He specializes in side-wheel driving – where the Tuk Tuk goes on two wheels instead of three – and just set a ridiculous 1.37-mile record for side-wheeling.

To completely obliterate the previous record, he had to get his tuk tuk up to a speed of just under 50 mph before he could steer it onto two wheels. The record was broken at Juhu Aerodrome in Mumbai on the “Guinness World Records – Ab India Todega” show.

verified the record for the “furthest distance side-wheel driving on a motor tricycle,” and released this footage of Jagathish in motion.

“I never thought this record was achievable, but…I am satisfied,” Jagathish told Guinness World Records for its 2016 edition of the book.

Either way, I’m pretty sure I would trust a guy who can do sweet tuk tuk stunts over your average tuk tuk driver. That’s an amazing level of tuk tuk control, even more so than most four-wheel drivers.

There's Going To Be A Race On The Moon
There's Going To Be A Race On The Moon
There's been a bit of hooning on the moon before (Apollo 16, see below), but there's never been anything involving more than one wheeled vehicle that could really be thought of as a 'race.' But that looks like it's about to change, with the possibility of a coming in 2016....

Al-Jazeera Just Got Its Hands On Docs From FSB, Mi6, Mossad, And More
The original Wikileaks US State Department cable dump a few years ago was illuminating at best, and embarrassing at worst. But a new batch of cable leaks is set to be released, this time from (working with the Guardian), and it's set to be a whole lot bigger. Documents from...

What's The Craziest Non-Car Made By A Carmaker?
Chrysler is a company now known for making dowdy family cars, pickup trucks, and the occasional Hellcat. But long before the modern-day era of staid sedans and Italian ownership, there was the Chrysler Space Division. And the Chrysler Space Division made rockets. Of course, you don't just decide that one...

These Guided Smart Shells Could Revolutionize The Navy's Dated Deck Guns
Raytheon's 155mm M982 Excalibur extended-range guided artillery shell is being shrunk down to fit into the Mark 45 five inch deck guns that are deployed aboard the Navy's Cruisers and Destroyers. This miniaturized sea-going Excalibur, known as the N5, could triple the range of current five inch shells and offer...

Why Is Suzuki Helping Fund This Chinese Ducati Knockoff?
No, Ducati is not offering a new, ultra-exclusive variant of the 1098 called the SPACE RANGER. They should, but that's besides the point. The point is that Suzuki is apparently a stakeholder in the company that makes this 300cc ode to Ducati's superbike. China has a long, proud tradition of...

These Glorious '80s Mutants Free Us From The Tyranny Of Cafe Racers
Choppers are over and cafe racers are on their way out. We're seeing more tracker/scrambler-style bikes, but they still harken back to a bygone era that's more fashion than function. Icon isn't having it, and its latest pair of customs are pointing a way forward. Naturally, the New Jack and...
