The driver of a blatantly ran a stop sign in Long Beach, California, last week only to be smacked into a restaurant by a city bus in broad daylight.

Investigators determined that the driver of the Charger was speeding when they blew the stop around 3 p.m. on Nov. 9. The driver attempted to brake once entering the busy intersection at high speed, but it was too little too late and the massive bulk of the city bus launched the Charger into the thankfully empty Boujie Crab restaurant, :

Fire officials said five people were hospitalized with injuries ranging from minor to critical but stable. Nine others suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The owner of the nearby Sohan Market, Jay Singh witnessed the impact and ran across the street to help.

“I helped two or three people come out of the bus,” he said. I gave them rubbing alcohol and cotton so they could wipe out their blood. I want to go inside but I saw smoke coming out of the bus.

At least 14 people were injured in the incident, but thankfully no one was killed in this harrowing collision.
