Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Feb. 21-22, 2015
Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Feb. 21-22, 2015-August 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:45

Welcome to the Jalopnik , where we let you know what's going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

NASCAR's Daytona 500 is this weekend and thus, is the big news. NASCAR likes to start its season with its biggest race, and this is it. Speedways like the 2.5-mile Daytona course force drivers to rely much more on teamwork and drafting than other courses, so expect close racing and the potential for big carnage, should someone get bumped in one of Daytona's big banked turns.

NASCAR may dominate the weekend, but NHRA hits Phoenix and the Superbike World Championship heads to Phillip Island. AMA Supercross also continues its early weekly schedule.

If you know about anything we missed, or about good livestreams out there, let us know in the comments below.

Every Racing Series Needs a Live Drone Cam Immediately
Formula Drift might not be for everyone, but holy hell do they get a lot of things right that other racing series can’t seem to wrap brains around. I attended last weekend’s Long Beach season-opening round and I was absolutely astonished by the incredible ways FD is adapting existing technology...

Mini Vintage Racing is the Best Spectator Sport
If you’ve ever been in one of these old Minis, you know just quite how small and tinny they are. By dint of dimension, basically as wide as it is long, with the wheels pushed to the edges of the car, it is quite a competent racing car. Sure,...
