Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Jan. 17-18, 2015-July 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:46

Welcome to the Jalopnik , where we let you know what's going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

Welcome to the slow start of the motorsports season. There isn't wall-to-wall racing yet, however, there's a few good events worth paying attention to.

The sheer lunacy of the continues this weekend, with the main feature race set for tomorrow. The Chili Bowl is this: indoor midget car racing, with drivers from all over the country congregating in a Tulsa stadium. It's exactly as rowdy a good ol' redneck time as it sounds, except without the focus being on a delicious meat stew. (I guess the dirt kind of makes it look like a chili bowl. Either way, I'm hungry now. Thanks a lot.)

The Chili Bowl is tomorrow!

The Dakar Rally also wraps up this weekend. Who will make it to the end? Well, Dakar has a live information stream with video highlights on , or you can wait for NBCSN to show the highlights after every night.

Two wheels more your thing? Check out this week's round of AMA Supercross!

If you know about anything we missed, or about good livestreams out there, let us know in the comments below.

F1 Car Hits Mechanic In The Nuts
F1 Car Hits Mechanic In The Nuts
That’s not gone well. At the Spanish Grand Prix over the weekend, Romain Grosjean overshot his marks coming in to his pit box. And by overshot his marks, I mean he beaned his jack guy right in the nards. The mechanic shrugged the whole thing off, amazingly. He finished up...

For Racing Drivers, The Home Struggle Is Real
Haha, the two worlds of racing and guilty-pleasure HGTV shows have collided. Driver Michael Valiante appeared on an episode of , and proved one fact that my apartment reflects about eighty thousand times more: who has time for a stupid house?! I love HGTV shows because it’s pure fantasy. I...

Rally Driver Pulls An Austin Powers
Rally Driver Pulls An Austin Powers
That’s not gone how it was supposed to go. This is at the Roger Sauvelon Historic Rally Festival, where this poor Opel driver handbraked a little more than necessary. It’s like this, but with more rallying and less quasi-futuristic clothes: Luckily, rally fans came to his rescue. Thanks, rally fans!...
