What Do You Want To Know About The 2018 Volvo XC40?
What Do You Want To Know About The 2018 Volvo XC40?-March 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:09:52

Volvo began its renaissance a few years ago, first with the big XC90 SUV and the big S90 sedan. They were followed by the midsize XC60, but the true test of the comeback would be the smaller crossover. But I have seen this entry-level luxury promised land, and it has been good.

( Volvo wanted me to drive the new XC40 so bad that they flew me business class to Barcelona, Spain. Don’t worry, “business class” sounds fancy but it was American Airlines and I can assure you it was Not Great. I’m still in Barcelona, from whence I blog. Volvo fed me shrimp with the heads still attached. I’m not sure if it was intended as an insult.)

Granted, this is by no means a sports car. But still, Sweden itself can be a bit boring and yet very nice, and so is the XC40.

Things I Like:

It looks like a hightop sneaker, both inside and outThe 248 horsepower/258 pound-feet of torque in the T5 is surprisingly punchyHave you SEEN the ???

Things I’m Not A Huge Fan Of:

The steering is quite deadNot the most amount of rear-seat legroom in the worldVolvo’s Pilot Assist still insists I keep my hands on the steering wheel, and I know this is a love-it-or-hate-it thing but it drives me absolutely nuts

So what do you want to know about the car? Ask me anything you want about the 2018 Volvo XC40 in the comments below!

The C4 Corvette breathed new life into the brand, however for some that wasn't enough. Today's stroker droptop goes over the top and breathes through a supercharger, but will its price take your breath away? Less hyperventilating was yesterday's , a rare but not hugely desirable roadster which, though originating...

Tomorrow marks the end of Hanukkah, the traditional Jewish celebration of one-night's worth of oil burning for eight. Today's Autocars Sabra roadster comes from the traditionally Jewish State of Israel, but will its price light your fire? Created in 1948 through the dividing of Palestine, Medinat Yisrael, or the modern...

BMW drivers are sometimes accused of using their cars to compensate for other, very small, things. Despite being covered with BMW-ness, today's very large Thing doesn't seem to be compensating for anything. However, will you find its price too much compensation for such a thing? Putting on airs, that's what...

The pickup emerged in 2007 as a desert runner, was recast and then as a . For its fourth phase, Ford is positioning the long-travel-suspension pickup as a rock crawler. Having never scrabbled the Earth's craggy layer in a truck before, I was a natural sucker for Ford's latest demo...

Today, most cars are front wheel drive, but decades ago, such a feature was revolutionary. Today's Citroën isn't just a Traction Avant, it's avant-garde. But will you find its price Gaul-ing? Some cars just demand rear-wheel drive, especially those with the kind of horsepower that could conceivably require a transmission...

With Saab almost pushing up daisies - or whatever it is they push up in Sweden, it's prime time to grab a sweet Swede before they're all gone. Today's 1997 900 has a claimed 400bhp, meaning that grabbing it will require fast hands, but will its price grab you? Yesterday's...
