What Do You Want To Know About The 2022 Lexus LC 500?-July 2024

So far, I’ve spent a little over 250 miles driving the Lexus LC. I’m tempted to ask them to let me have it. But I agreed to write a review on it and that’s what I’m going to do. Before anything though, I’d like to know if you guys wanted to know anything about it.

Let me get something out of the way first: I love the LC. Yes, I know it’s an old person/old money GT in the same vein as an 11th-gen Ford T-Bird or Bentley Continential GT or any year of the Mercedes SL. But this thing is rolling art; a concept car put into production. If I could park it inside of my house on the side of my bed I would. But anyway…

The LC is Lexus’ flagship. “But I thought the LS was?” you might ask. Not anymore. It’s true that LS embodies what the Lexus brand is, but the LC goes further than that. Think of it as an LS coupe in a sense that looks just as big as an LS, but it’s strangely smaller measuring just 187.4 inches long. That’s 0.9 inches shorter than a Ford Mustang for perspective.

While a hybrid 3.5-liter V6 is available on the LC 500h, the LC 500 is powered by the same 5.0-liter V8 used in all the F cars. That V8 makes 471 American muscle car-sounding horses in the LC.

I mentioned that this thing is rolling art right? It’s not just the exterior, that extends to the interior too. You’re surrounded by curves and angles of leather and suede that all makes for a surprisingly intuitive interior. At first glance, you may get turned off by a certain interior feature that I’ll mention in the review, but you weirdly will get used to it.

I think that’s enough of a preview before the real review. Just let me know what you mightwant to know about it down in the comments.

For $16,450, Get Z3- Pee-Oh’d
The Kathoey, or lady boys of Thailand, go to great lengths to appear to be something they’re not. Likewise, today’s Miata wears a disguise, and it also has a stick! But does its price need a disguise too? According to fable maker Aesop, familiarity breeds contempt, and while you may...

The Curious Case Of The Volvo S60 R-Design
I like what Volvo is doing. After a long period of curious choices and mostly uninspired cars, Volvo has made a few nods towards vehicles that are simultaneously competitive and unique (as opposed to neither). The Volvo S60 R-Design may be the best example of this. The base S60 is...

For $1,450, Twin Stick It To The Man
During filming of the 1931 classic, The Champ, they used to tell child actor Jackie Cooper that his dog had been run over in order to get him to cry. Today’s Champ needs no such manipulation, although its twin stick gearbox might take some getting used to, as might its...

For $11,500, Wanna Whole Lada Love
Russia hasn’t always been all dash cam hilarity and meteor mayhem, it once represented America’s greatest rival and was the source of the world’s biggest communist bloc parties. Today’s Lada 2103 harkens back to that era, but does it come with a price that will make you see red, comrade?...

For $24,990, You Can Call Me Al
I think we can all agree that BMW’s first generation 3-series doesn’t get much love. That shouldn't be the case with today’s Pipe Alpina-branded turbo however, as it’s a freaking orgy. But, will its price and promise prove anticlimactic? While typically used to denote the victor of a contest, another...

2013 Volvo C30 Polestar: The Jalopnik Review
There are many forgotten cars on the roads these days. Cars you see in line at Taco Bell waiting for a Doritos Locos Taco that cause you to take a second and think to yourself "oh yeah, that's still a thing!" The Volvo C30 is one of those cars and,...
