Where The Hell Are All The Affordable Toyota Supras?
Where The Hell Are All The Affordable Toyota Supras?-August 2024

The Toyota Supra has ascended to sheer unobtainium status in the used car market . However, the fact remains that there should, in theory, be a fair few that are in need of work and able to be had for a song. The question is, where the hell are they?

On a daily basis, I search Craigslist, eBay, and when I’m absolutely desperate, AutoTrader to research not only values for fourth generation Toyota Supras, but values for examples that would be considered a laughable total loss by any rational insurance adjuster.

Try as I might, I just can’t find any cars that I would consider affordable, especially given that it’s a 23-year old Toyota that .

I get that you can pump a hell of a lot of power through its engine, but I don’t think for one is anywhere near realistic.

If you asked the Jay Lenos or Wayne Carinis of the world about barn finds, they’d likely say the…

Having said that, maybe I’m just looking in the wrong places. Are there any barn find or project car Supras to be had, or are we calling it a wrap on the attainability of these modern classics? My inner child hopes it’s not the latter.

Update: I'm Still Burning Money
When I I’d just picked it up from having Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86 front and rear subframes grafted into its crumbling body. When the car came back to me in May, the clock started ticking. I had until mid-September to get the engine and transmission mounted in the car, clean...

I Ordered A Carbon-Fiber Roof For My Porsche 996 Turbo And I Might Throw Up A Little
I bought maybe the cheapest Porsche 996 Turbo—that’s right, —on the market a year ago, and I’ve mostly been happily stacking miles on the odometer since then. I have been working on making the car my own with a period-correct set of wheels, some extra carbon trim, and a...
