Why Buy A Bugatti Centodieci When You Can Have This F-16 Fighter Jet For Less?
Why Buy A Bugatti Centodieci When You Can Have This F-16 Fighter Jet For Less?-November 2024

Well not this F-16 exactly, but supposedly one similar

The $8,878,800 (plus tax!) list price of the really makes you think. The fact that there’s a market for such a preposterous toy is a pretty clear indicator that some people are too rich. Then again–why would you park among peasants in one of these when I could hook you up with an F-16 jet for less?

But actually–I was trawling Facebook thinking about Bugattis mere moments ago when I saw jet for sale in Palm Beach, Florida with an asking price of $8,500,000. (Call Russ if you want it, but I bet he knows what he’s got.)

“One is from the future and looks like it’s from the ’80s,” my colleague Raphael Orlove observed. And “the other is from the ’80s and looks like the future.” Indeed, the Centodieci is an homage to the Bugatti EB110, borrowing some of its design elements and ostensibly supposed to be just as epic.

The airplane ad is hilariously vague, but I guess you’d have to know what you’re looking at to be in the market for a fighter jet anyway. As to whether or not it’s a good deal, well, the U.S. government is from the Bulgarian government for eight F-16s, so $208,750,000 apiece. Yeah, I’m going to go ahead and guess that that one in Flordia needs a little more than an A/C recharge.

Be that as it may, it’d still be a more baller accessory sitting in your garage than a nearly-nine million dollar Bugatti. As long as you have a really big garage. Or, like, a theme restaurant to park it in.

but it’s not as user-friendly.

Hat tip to Leo!

The Ford Fusion Plug-In Hybrid Is A Car Without A Case
The Ford Fusion Plug-In Hybrid Is A Car Without A Case
The 2019 Ford Fusion plug-in hybrid is decent looking and comfortable enough to ride in. It’s also expensive and not particularly efficient. Ford’s “pivot to trucks” is a real bummer for car enthusiasts in general, but I don’t think anybody’s going to miss this one. (Ford lent me the Fusion...

Germany Is Full Of Diesel Manual Chrysler Minivans And They Are Dirt Cheap
Today I bring you a revelation: Germany is chock-full of absurdly cheap equipped with two coveted features never offered in the U.S.: a manual transmission and a diesel engine. Yes, I’m talking about the torquey and fuel efficient glory of a compression engine bolted to fun-to-drive transmission, all encapsulated...

At $5,000, Would You Ring In The New Year With This 1974 Volvo 140?
There’s a lot going on with today’s Volvo. We’ll just have to see if its price means it also “has got it going on.” Here’s a sobering fact—BMW offers twenty-two distinct body styles here in the U.S. today, and none of those are station wagons. If you want a...

What Are We Going To Do About This High-Mile $1,500 Plymouth Voyager With A Five-Speed And The Best Interior
To take a frumpy 1980s Mopar minivan with a stick shift and drive the living hell out of it is . But somehow as 2019 wraps up, it’s still a relevant one. I had sort of thought that all of these cars had been junked or turbo-swapped and hooned...

At $22,000, Canadian, Could This 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 Be A 2020 Vision?
There’s probably no more iconic car than the ill-fated DeLorean DMC-12, and while today’s edition doesn’t look safe enough to hit anything close to 88 miles per hour, it’s the price might just make it an icon worth working on. Old Volvos like the we closed out the old...

Chevrolet’s C6 Corvette ZR1 was a gem of an automobile with supercar-beating power, grip for days, carbon ceramic brakes, and a 200+ mph top speed. The only thing it’s missing is cachet. It just looks like a Corvette. It doesn’t have fancy butterfly doors or flying buttresses, or a-pillar...
