Williams' Real-Life 2017 Formula One Car Has A Giant Martini Billboard On The Back
Williams' Real-Life 2017 Formula One Car Has A Giant Martini Billboard On The Back-September 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:25

Williams Martini Racing finally showed off their 2017 Formula One car in the flesh. Unlike the , the 2017 Williams FW40 now features a giant Martini billboard riding on its engine cover.

The embiggening of the car’s shark fin is among a few subtle tweaks that have been made over its render of its car, along with revised sidepods, notes . All of this is in line with what other teams are doing under the new 2017 regulations, as —a team who already admitted that they’re going to change much of the aerodynamics on its car before the first race of the season—is the only one without a big ol’ fin.

Fortunately, I am one of those Porsche homers who thinks you could put Martini livery onto a turd and it’d still be pleasing to look at. Whatever Williams does to its actual car short of going full- is still probably going to look good by sheer force of delightful stripeyness.

Here it is both alone and photographed with some of Williams’ historic F1 racers. Enjoy.

When Even IndyCar's Commentators Think You Suck
There’s a saying among track geeks when you suck: “other sports beckon.” In the case of IndyCar driver and Andretti family tree misfit Marco, maybe it’s “other drives beckon?” Listen as former IndyCar driver and series commentator Paul Tracy delivers the on-air burn of the year during the Watkins Glen...

Here Is Something NASCAR Will Penalize You For: Not Wearing Gloves
While NASCAR won’t penalize any drivers in Mosport’s blatant race ending or the fight that happened afterwards, they will at least penalize something. No. 21 Wood Brothers driver Ryan Blaney for driving without gloves in practice. NASCAR’s throwback weekend is full of cool vintage costumes and liveries. Because his car...
