You Can Get Some Insane Discounts On New Sedans While Everyone Else Is Buying Crossovers
You Can Get Some Insane Discounts On New Sedans While Everyone Else Is Buying Crossovers-August 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:09:54

American . While car sales are slowing down and automakers are getting desperate to offload their inventory, the deals on quality sedans are absolutely bonkers.

Of course, boring cars like or slow sellers like a can easily be had $8,000 or $10,000 off. Those deals are to be expected. But while America swings to crossovers, things are good if you’re in the market for a sedan that’s a bit more interesting.

As Americans gobble up crossovers like the Ford Escape, the with 325 horsepower and all-wheel-drive can be had for the price of a base model Camry.

Have you had your heart set on a new BMW 3 Series, but never thought you could afford one? You could score for under $30,000.

Perhaps you were shopping for something a little more luxurious with a lot of technology. The critically acclaimed is also available with some serious discounts.

Naturally, the caveat with all of these internet prices is that they may contain rebates and discounts that not everyone qualifies for. Once you get the details the price jumps up and now that insane price doesn’t seem so great. But you really can get a nice four-door for cheap now.

To prove it, here are some recent quotes that I received in various areas of the country from to illustrate how aggressive some of these dealers are.

2017 Audi A6 Prestige - $9,323 off the MSRP

2017 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid - $7,693 off the MSRP

2017 Toyota Avalon Touring - $8300 off the MSRP

As you can see these aren’t bargain basement four-door cars that no one wants. These are nice models with a ton of savings. So if you are one of those types that shun the crossover for the superior dynamics of a sedan, you might be able to upgrade to something a bit nicer than you expected.

Lexus IS-F, Part 2
Lexus IS-F, Part 2
The night following our first day with the Lexus IS-F, after our own Wes Siler managed to procure two trashcans full of beer, a bunch of us auto-journo types sat around telling war stories involving crochet mallets (don't ask). After we'd laughed most of the oxygen out of the room,...

Remember back 20 years when Mercedes and BMW scoffed at the idea of a Japanese luxury competitor? They weren't alone; basically everyone did. Well, we guarantee those companies are doing anything but scoffing now. This time around, with Lexus going after the Germans' most profitable niche - hottie factory tuners...

Among the people to whom I showed the IS-F, reaction was mixed. Some absolutely loved it. Others, not so much. I'm right in the middle. Not counting the fab-looking wheels there are three major differences between the steroidal F model and a regular IS. 1) Front end. The brake-cooling inlets...

Lexus IS-F Engine: Topless and Naked
I mentioned in today's of the IS-F review that if you remove the engine cover you're, "Looking at Darth Vader's chest plate, an expansive jumble of wires, black boxes and even more wires." Well, I wasn't kidding. More after the jump. That's, uh, me, holding the rubber engine cover. Notice...

[In many ways Jalopnik is like a fraternity and as one of our newest members of the fraternal order also happens to be our youngest, we're hazing giving our college-enrolled "new guy" a task to complete before he graduates that's as simple as A-to-Z. Or to spell it out —...

Lightning-fast acceleration, massive globs of handling and most likely the finest brakes we've ever stomped. World-class performance from an unlikely source, and that equals stealth. The eight-speed transmission means even with performance on par with the competition, you 'll get better fuel efficiency. The (expected) price will undercut the competition,...
