Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Aug. 13-14, 2016
Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Aug. 13-14, 2016-September 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:29

Welcome to the Jalopnik , where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

There isn’t much live racing on this weekend, so please share some streams in the comments below if you know any. Between television and the stream, the only live racing on this weekend—that we can find—will be the MotoGP World Championship and the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is off for the weekend, and surprisingly, none of the dominant Sprint Cup competitors are entered for the Xfinity Series race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. For those who regularly watch the Xfinity Series, that is a breath of air fresher than just about anything you could think of.

Due to Olympics coverage on NBC—the carrier for NASCAR’s top-two series for the latter part of the season—USA will broadcast the Xfinity Series race on Saturday. The series will be alongside the Trans Am Championship in Ohio, but the only way to keep up with those folks is through .

MotoGP is at Red Bull Ring in Austria, and that coverage will be on in the early hours of Saturday and Sunday. Repsol Honda Team rider Marc Marquez has a sizable lead over Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo in the championship standings—you know, since he races pretty well when he’s not .

If you know of any other events or live streams going on over the weekend, feel free to let us know in the comments below.
