2016 Mercedes-AMG GT3: This Is It
2016 Mercedes-AMG GT3: This Is It-February 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:44

Photos of the have leaked out onto this new fangled internet, and it looks pretty damn great. Hopefully it has the performance to match those sinister looks, because it's wading into an incredibly competitive field.

According to the French site , the AMG GT3 will be using a version of the of the V8 that powered the SLS AMG GT (although, they incorrectly say it's a 6.3 L, not a 6.2 L). I'm not so sure about that, but we'll find out soon enough.

What is for sure is that the AMG GT3 will have a suitably stripped out interior with a digital display replacing the gauge cluster, a wheel with lots of buttons, and of course carbon fiber. Oh so much delicious carbon fiber. This is not your grandma's AMG GT road car.

The crazy wide arches and giant rear show that this car means business, and that's exactly what Mercedes needs entering a GT3 field that is more competitive and diverse than its been in a long time.

Oh, and the GT3 race car might too. Either way, it's a good time to be a Mercedes-AMG fan.

Today Red Bull and Aston Martin unveiled their new Formula 1 car, the RB14. Decked out in very cool blue digital camo and sporting the Halo, this car might be a serious competitor for the 2018 F1 season. I quite like the look if I’m being honest. Max Verstappen and...
