6 Hours Of Mexico Race Briefly Interrupted By Baseball
6 Hours Of Mexico Race Briefly Interrupted By Baseball-August 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:20

Just because the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez built part of its circuit through a baseball stadium doesn’t mean you should throw baseballs onto the track. Those things hurt at normal baseball speeds—I don’t even want to think about a baseball nut shot tossed by a Le Mans prototype where no one nearby is wearing a cup.

Today’s World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Mexico was briefly slowed down for a full course yellow so that a marshal could retrieve a baseball.

The baseball was right at Turn 4 on the track, and definitely wouldn’t have been fun if one of the race cars took it through the radiator.

I’m with intrepid Twitter screencapper Mattzel89—this is definitely the most interesting baseball action I’ve seen in years. I do not have the attention span for baseball, but I definitely do for this.

The No. 2 Porsche 919 currently leads overall with just an hour left in the race, right ahead of the No. 1 Porsche 919, but the final round of prototype pit stops should be on the way.
