The new passenger car market experienced 405349 sales from January to November 2012 while the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment generated 144965 sales. Toyota is South Africas most popular car brand for 2012. Toyota experienced consistent sales figures throughout the year with August yielding the most sales with 12220 units sold. Toyotas success is largely due to its dominance in the LCV segment and impressive sales in the passenger car segment. Toyotas best selling vehicle is the Toyota Hilux which has sold more than 31687 units between January and November 2012.

GMSAs best selling model for 2012 was the Chevrolet Utility which sold a total of 17927 units between January and November 2012.
