Anyone who loves seeing those classic red and blue stripes got a boatload of sadness last year when Grand-Am team Brumos Racing decided to sit out the first year of the TUDOR United SportsCar series. Brumos might not be back as a team per se, but Dempsey/Wright Motorsports will bring back that livery.

Dempsey/Wright Motorsports is taking on the most 'Murica of all 'Murican team liveries for the North American Endurance Cup: Brumos' red and blue stripes on white, complete with an American flag on the roof—just in case you forgot where the team is based.

While the Dempsey Racing team will be primarily focused on the World Endurance Championship next year, they're with fellow Porsche team Wright Motorsports to campaign a 911 GT America in the North American Endurance Cup. The NAEC includes the four most iconic rounds of the United SportsCar season: Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta. Jan Heylen, Madison Snow and Patrick Dempsey will drive this gorgeous machine and Philipp Eng will the trio for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Brumos ran a number of excellent liveries throughout the years (canary yellow '73 RSR, anyone?), but nothing was perhaps as iconic and instantly recognizable as their red and blue stripes.

While I've spoken out against the for retro liveries in the past, the Brumos family of dealerships is a team sponsor, and this is the most recognizable symbol of their brand. It's not just good branding, it's ultra-rad excellent branding and a pretty awesome reminder that I should be saving up for a tow Cayenne.

I'm still sad that there's not a full-TUSC-season #59 Brumos Racing car, but I can't say that I won't smile a bit every time I see the #58 Dempsey/Wright car on track.
