Caterham F1 Team Reportedly Raided By Police
Caterham F1 Team Reportedly Raided By Police-June 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:50

The Caterham F1 team office has reportedly been raided by police, according to Emma Buxton. It's unclear as to what exactly triggered the law enforcement action, but the team has been in extremely dire financial straits.

The Caterham team has had an absolute mess of a season so far, and not just in the standings. The perennially-poor team had its owner make a quick announcement a few months ago to sell the team to a mysterious group of investors, and since then not only did the team boss last month "to spend more time with his family," but then Pirelli to leave the race cars up on blocks after the team started missing payments for tires.

Last I checked, tires are an important component of cars.

Just two days ago, the team said it was "" to the 2015 season. The team has yet to issue an official statement, so at the moment we're not entirely sure if the team is even committed to the remainder of the 2014 season.

More as we have it.

Caterham just issued this oddly-worded , which really sounds like one of those non-denial denials. Not much is going on, according to the team, but they didn't say anything about the cops:

2 October 2014

There have been unfounded and unsubstantiated rumours concerning actions against 1MRT, the entrant and owner of CaterhamF1.

An action was threatened yesterday against a supplier company to 1MRT. This company is not owned by 1MRT and it has no influence over the entry of CaterhamF1 or the entrant.

Also contrary to uncontrolled rumours, all operations are currently in place at Leafield and the race team is doing its preparation in Japan.
