Celebrate World Beard Day With A Hug And An MX-5 Race Car
Celebrate World Beard Day With A Hug And An MX-5 Race Car-March 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:39

We caught up with at Watkins Glen, where the now internet-famous CJ Wilson Racing crew man was hammering on the team’s Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Mazda MX-5. As today is , here are a few MX-5 pics for your enjoyment.

Here is The Beard in his natural habitat, wrenching on the ST-class Mazda.

I’m admittedly skeptical of this site’s overwhelming love for the Miata, but even I have to admit: it’s good in racecar form. Looks good. Drives well. Bunny and I approve of this car.

They’re lucky rabbits can’t reach the pedals.

Here’s the car running in better weather at Lime Rock. Good car? Yes. Good car.

Go forth, bearded dudes of Jalopnik. Stroke your beards in deep thought. Keep stuffing them into nomex balaclavas to avoid the ire of track marshals. They’re warm now, but come this winter, you’ll appreciate the extra layer like it’s a fuzzy hug permanently attached to your face. And keep on beardin’ on.

Happy World Beard Day!

Alonso Says He 'Didn't Miss Monaco,' Enjoys Some Post-Indy 500 Milk Anyway
If there’s anybody who earned a conciliatory carton of milk at the Indianapolis 500, it was two-time Formula One champ and Indianapolis 500 rookie Fernando Alonso. Despite not taking the checkered flag, Alonso told reporters that he still didn’t miss taking part in the F1 Monaco Grand Prix. Alonso’s Honda...

Honda’s Reliability Problems Just Took Out One Of The Indy 500 Leaders [Update: And Another]
This is not Honda’s year to build a reliable engine in open-wheel, single-seater race cars. Ryan Hunter Reay, one of Fernando Alonso’s Andretti teammates, just had his engine fail with a huge THUNK. Hunter-Reay has the first Honda engine to go kaput during today’s Indianapolis 500 race. Sadly, 2014 Indianapolis...

Takuma Sato's Honda Engine Survives All 200 Laps To Win The 2017 Indianapolis 500
With a several late-race passes over leader Max Chilton and a fierce battle for the win with Helio Castroneves, Takuma Sato won the 2017 Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. His car was the Andretti Honda engine that could... actually survive the race. The race was full of wrecks and...

Huge Indy 500 Wreck Somehow Only Eats Five Cars
Just moments after to bring out the yellow flag at the Indianapolis 500, five cars wound up in a massive crash with less than 20 laps to go in the race. Between engines blowing and cars crashing, it doesn’t seem like we’ll have much of a field left by the...

I Just Saw Fernando Alonso And He Is As Dreamy As You’d Think
I Just Saw Fernando Alonso And He Is As Dreamy As You’d Think
I’m really not the biggest Fernando Alonso fan out there, but that didn’t matter when the Spanish Formula One driver walked past me at the Indianapolis 500. I was no match for his dreamy aura. There I was, minding my own business near pit lane at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, when...

Fernando Alonso Out Of Indy 500 After Honda Engine Fails
Fernando Alonso’s engine abruptly failed on lap 179 of 200 during today’s Indianapolis 500, taking him out of the race. Alonso, who opted to race in the Indy 500 instead of the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix because his Honda-powered F1 car was so , had the third Honda engine...
