Check Out How Unbelievably Shiny This 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R Is-January 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:09:48

Every day, I come into the Jalopnik office, open my laptop and blog the blogs. I also have a separate window always open and one eye trained on my TweetDeck, which is how I saw this lovely red 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R pop up on . I think its shininess is what first caught my attention.

I mean, just look at it! Glossy and in that shade of perfect firetruck red that’ll surely alert every cop within a 30-mile radius. Right-hand drive, too. It honestly looks like the perfect Skyline.

But wait up, what’s this? An aftermarket tailpipe?

And aftermarket wheels?

I read the listing most closely. “Modified example”? Oh, no. The mods are as follows:

GReddy T78-33D turbo kitGReddy intercooler and oil cooler kitGReddy Type R blow-off valve with a recirculation kitStainless manifold and external dump wastegateBlitz twin intake filter kit with upgraded mass air flow sensorsBlitz LM radiatorHKS Super Dragger exhaustHKS boost controllerMulti-plate high-performance clutch

PLUS a carbon fiber front spoiler and “rear wing extension.”

I felt my heart sink. The car is too modified for my own tastes. Let me be clear, I’m not against modified Skylines. I just wouldn’t want someone else’s modified Skyline.

Maybe somebody else out there—someone braver, no doubt—will want this red Skyline. Maybe that someone is you. At the time of this writing, the current bid is up to $2,500. You can do it! Buy it and tell me if it’s actually this shiny in person.

Do me one favor though: Change those wheels.

For $2,500, Could This 1964 Chevy Corvair Monza Spyder Lure You Into Its Web?

For $6,999, Could This 2007 Hyundai Tiburon GT Be A Keeper?
Do you remember the Hyundai Tiburon? I sure as hell don’t. Still, today’s GT looks like a pretty sweet car. Let’s see if its price makes it all the more memorable. Rear-mounted air-cooled, flat six with a turbo doesn’t describe a hell of a lot of cars. It does however...

For $9,500, Could This 1975 Toyota Celica Be A Car Worth Remembering?
Today’s Celica represents a model that was once a stalwart combatant in the pony car wars. Let’s see if its price makes this pony ready to do battle once again. So, is there really such a thing as a non-desirable Porsche 911? That’s a question for the ages, and with...

The $144,000 Callaway AeroWagen Is Way More Than Just A Corvette With A Weird Roof
Backing the onto the street was like stumbling into a family reunion buck naked. Moms grabbed their kids, grandmas fainted, everybody else ran screaming. “What’s wrong with these dorks,” I snorted. Then I hit the gas and realized the neighbors had every right to be terrified. With what I thought...

For $4,800, Could This 1990 VW Fox Shooting Brake Have You Breaking Out Your Wallet?
According to Wikipedia, the Maned Wolf is Brazil’s largest canid. I take issue with that as today’s VW Fox comes from Brazil and it’s much bigger. Let’s see if its price proves equally questionable. Geez, a number of you took issue with the posting of a Japanese car on Memorial...

The 2017 Honda Civic Si Is The Kind Of Fun That Won’t Ruin Your Life
The is no revelation of automotive excellence. But it’s easy to live with, encourages hard driving and has a little attitude without making you look like an asshole. Messing around with this car is enough to lure anyone into driving for the fun of it, and that’s exactly the point....
