Driver Takes Lead At Rally Sweden In Spite Of Flopping Door That Wouldn't Stay Shut
Driver Takes Lead At Rally Sweden In Spite Of Flopping Door That Wouldn't Stay Shut-December 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:25

Hyundai World Rally Championship driver Thierry Neuville ended Friday with an impressive 28.1-second lead at Rally Sweden. Most impressive of all, though, was the fact that Neuville’s door just didn’t want to stay closed and kept flopping open during Friday’s final stage.

Neuville told :

We had a decent first loop today, although it wasn’t perfect. In stage four, there were a lot of deep cuts and I hit something very hard with the front.

My door kept opening slightly on the final stage, which was a distraction but overall the car has been working very well here and I’m optimistic for the rest of the weekend.

“Slightly.” Uh-huh. Sure. That looks like a pretty big opening to me.

: The WRC released an interior view today that shows exactly how annoying this door problem was.

Rally Sweden Driver Showed Up Late On Purpose To Avoid Going First On Garbage Roads
Rally Sweden was a winter wonderland this year, but not for the drivers who went first. The first cars on a snowy stage inevitably act as snowplows for everyone behind them—and those later competitors then go faster on the clearer roads. One driver at Sweden had enough, so he arrived...

This Is The Mercedes You’ll Probably Get Sick Of Again In Formula One
The current hybrid V6 era in Formula One has been defined by one thing above all: getting real damn tired of seeing the Mercedes car up front, week after week. Last season was better, but Mercedes their 2018 W09 EQ Power+ F1 car and I’m already bored of it. As...
