2023-12-14 EST 02:30:52

The newFerrari F12 Berlinetta has been revealed and ushers in the new Prancing Horse V12, adding the finishing flourish to an all-new range of 12-cylinder models.

Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Built for Speed

Engine Capability

The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is the most powerful and high-performance road-going Ferrari, and under its hood is a new V12 engine built around highly evolved transaxle architecture and features state-of-the-art components and control systems. The new 200-bar direct-injection 6262cc 65-degree V12 engine delivers a specific power of 87kW/litre and maximum power output of 544kW at 8700 rpm and a maximum torque figure of 690Nm at 2500 rpm.

The car’s compression ratio has also been increased to 13.5:1 and a new 3.0 ECU has been adopted that uses ionisation currents to control sparking and detect misfires. The engine is mated to a seven speed F1 dual clutch transmission.

Exterior Design Features

The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta has low, sleek coupe lines with powerfully sculpted flanks and curved contours that dip to channel the air flows from the bonnet. The rear is characterised by a modern, functional reinterpretation of the Kamm tail which integrates seamlessly to the two vertical fences of the rear diffuser. The original T-shape also incorporates two full-LED circular tail-lights and the F1-inspired rear fog light.

Additionally, the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta features a traditional double wishbone suspension with lower L-arm at the front and multi-link at the rear. It also sports the new SCM-E magnetorheological dampers (a damper filled with magnetorheological fluid, which is controlled by a magnetic field, usually using an electromagnet) which have twin solenoids.

The model also comes in two new exterior paint options Rosso Berlinetta and Aluminium, created specifically to enhance the F12berlinetta’s aerodynamic forms. The front spoiler, sill covers and wing mirrors feature sporty elements, and there are three different wheel rim colours available which can be combined with coloured brake callipers and carbon-fibre hubcaps.

Interior Design Features

The car is covered in Frau Leather interior. The cabin has been optimised to ensure maximum usability of the interior space with additional luggage capacity behind the seats, which can also be easily reached through the large aperture tail-gate. The dashboard features carbon-fibre and light alloy air-vents inspired by the aeronautical sector. There is also an optional passenger display for the passenger-side dash. The central bridge incorporates the F1 gearbox and hazard warning light buttons, and is one of the cabin’s signature elements. Below it is an Alcantara-lined oddments storage space and a cup-holder.

The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta will be available with a 7-year maintenance programme that covers standard servicing (every 20,000 km or once a year, with no kilometre limits), original parts, and detailed inspection, using the latest diagnostics, by qualified personnel trained at the Maranello factory.
